The results from last newsletter’s trade poll are in. I asked what you thought of this trade submitted by Matt:

Team A (Contender) receives:

  • Malik Nabers

  • Davante Adams

Team B (Contender) receives:

  • Puka Nacua

  • Jaylen Waddle

Result: The Nabers + Davante side came out on top by a wide margin.

Here are some additional comments left by the voters from each side:

Nabers + Davante voters (Contender):

  • “Nabers + Puka both studs but Puka operating with QB uncertainty in the next 2 years. Davante will be much better than Waddle this year. ”

  • “I fear what Puka becomes without Stafford. Nabers already showed out without competent QB play.”

Puka + Waddle voters (Contender):

  • “If you are in a win now spot then Nabers/Davante is the move. I went with Puka and Waddle because Davante is a bit of a throw away pick due to his limited long term value. If Waddle can get a healthy quarterback, he and Puka make for a more dynamic long term hold.”

Our take:

  • I was pretty surprised to see such a big discrepancy in the voting. Overall, I think the trade is fair, but I would give the edge to the Puka + Waddle side because of the age factor. I’m willing to take the shot on Waddle rebounding given all he has shown before last season. And Tyreek won’t be in MIA forever, so Waddle’s best season could still be ahead of him if he becomes their #1 WR.

  • Finished as QB10 and QB6 in fantasy points per game over the last two seasons

  • Ranked 11th in rushing yards and 7th in rushing scores among quarterbacks last year

  • Placed 3rd in yards per attempt, 9th in CPOE, and 10th in fantasy points per dropback in the previous season

  • Ray Davis is pegged as one of the best handcuff profiles in fantasy, going around pick 134, with the potential to be a league-winner if James Cook misses time for the Bills.

  • He was #20 in yards created per touch and posted 1.69 yards per route run as a rookie, with a strong three-down skill set and size to handle a heavy workload if called upon.

  • In two games with 60%+ snaps, Davis had 41 opportunities and scored 18.2 and 14.5 PPR points, showing he can deliver RB2+ value if thrust into a starting role.

  • The hosts debate his standalone value, agreeing he’s mostly a pure handcuff, but see his upside as massive in the event of a Cook injury, making him a smash pick in the 12th round for best ball and redraft benches.

  • Expected to secure a full-time role in Browns' pass-heavy offense for 2025

  • Jordan Addison, still just 23, is one of five WRs since 2006 to record 1,300 yards and 19 touchdowns over his first two years, joining elite company like Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.

  • He’s averaged 13+ fantasy points per game and 20 total touchdowns in his first two seasons, and the hosts see him as a strong value with room to rise if he becomes the clear WR1.

  • Addison’s youth and production make him a set-and-forget option in dynasty, with a slight tier break after his ranking.

  • Mark Andrews is discussed as a potential dynasty sell, with the hosts warning that touchdown regression is coming after his 11-TD season; they expect that number to drop to six or seven.

  • At age 30 and entering the final year of his contract, Andrews' long-term role in Baltimore is in question, especially with the emergence of Isaiah Likely and the team's likely reluctance to pay two tight ends big money.

  • The hosts note that tight ends typically decline after age 32-33 unless they're outliers like Tony Gonzalez or Travis Kelce, and they advise dynasty managers to move on from Andrews before his value drops further.
