5 players trending up (week 10)

Featuring Marvin Harrison Jr., Alec Pierce, and more.

Yooo!

Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week because the most fantasy football content comes out on this day.

Today, we analyzed 112 players with at least one mention in any fantasy football article (and a lot of these players were mentioned in multiple articles):

all the players we analyzed today

112 players enter, but only 5 can make the cut for tonight’s trending up newsletter. Let’s see who made the list.

Giddy up.

WR - Marvin Harrison Jr. (ARI)

  • Marvin Harrison Jr. had his first top-12 WR finish of the season, recording a season-high seven receptions and 96 receiving yards while scoring his third red zone touchdown of the year.

  • Harrison's performance comes with the challenge of competing for red zone targets with Trey McBride, who has the second-most targets in the red zone in the league, making scoring opportunities more difficult.

  • This week's performance potentially signals a turning point for Harrison, offering hope that he might become more consistently involved around the goal line after struggling earlier in the season.

  • Our take: That last bullet says it all. This performance gives me hope. Feel like this Arizona offense is still trying to figure out who they are. With Jacoby now the starter for the foreseeable future, maybe they can keep building on this performance.

WR - Alec Pierce (IND)

  • Pierce has consistently outsnapped Josh Downs this season and has seen a significant boost in targets over the past three weeks, leading Indianapolis receivers in route rate (90%) and posting a 26% target share second only to Michael Pittman.

  • In his recent three-game stretch, Pierce has averaged 9.3 targets, 4.3 receptions, and 94 receiving yards, culminating in a Week 9 performance with season highs of 13 targets, 6 receptions, and 115 yards.

  • Despite facing the league's toughest remaining wide receiver schedule, Pierce ranks 20th among all receivers with 501 receiving yards and leads the league with 20.9 yards per catch, carrying WR3 potential for the rest of the season.

  • Our take: Pierce has never been the most consistent WR. But he’s topped 10+ targets in 2 of the last 3 games (10, 5, 13). If he can keep earning consistent looks, he’ll be in the WR2/WR3 conversation every week. I love him as a first guy off the bench for fantasy.

WR - Rashid Shaheed (SEA)

  • Shaheed was traded from the Saints to the Seattle Seahawks, joining a receiving corps that includes Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tory Horton. Despite the Seahawks' low 11-personnel usage, Shaheed's addition suggests the team wants to expand its passing attack and add new wrinkles to their offensive strategy.

  • Shaheed is more than just a deep threat, capable of winning at all levels of the field, particularly on in-breaking routes that the Seahawks' offense favors. His history with Seahawks' offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak from their time in New Orleans should facilitate a smooth transition into the team's offensive system.

  • While his target volume might decrease from his time with the Saints' fast-paced offense, Shaheed's vertical skills could be maximized by quarterback Sam Darnold, who leads the NFL in throws over 20 yards. His arrival is expected to boost the Seahawks' already efficient passing game, though it may limit opportunities for rookie receiver Tory Horton.

  • Our take: Leaving New Orleans would be a boost for almost any offensive player. But Shaheed seems like a perfect fit for Darnold’s deep ball tendencies this year. I’d probably wait a week or two to see it first, but there’s some upside here.

RB - Kyle Monangai (CHI)

Mentioned in: The Top 10: Week 10

  • Kyle Monangai delivered an exceptional performance against the Bengals, showcasing his contact balance, power, decision-making, cutback ability, and game stamina with a 31-touch, 198-yard performance that was the best by any running back against Cincinnati this year.

  • Despite his impressive showing, Monangai is unlikely to immediately supplant D'Andre Swift in the Bears' depth chart. At best, he's positioned to earn a split role similar to David Montgomery's complement to Jahmyr Gibbs, providing a powerful running style that contrasts with Swift's space-oriented play.

  • Monangai's path to becoming the featured back depends on Swift's continued decision-making errors and ability to abandon play designs. While he's capable of delivering RB1 production during Swift's absence, fantasy managers should temper expectations and view him as a potential RB2-RB3 with a low floor.

  • Our take: As a Swift owner, this performance makes me nervous. Monangai was trending up before this monster game. He might’ve just earned himself a bigger piece of the pie. It does feel like we’re seeing lite version of Monty/Gibbs.

WR - Zay Flowers (BAL)

  • Zay Flowers is currently the WR24 in PPR points per game, with an impressive 29.8% target share ranking eighth among wide receivers and 2.45 yards per route run ranking 10th overall, despite playing with backup quarterbacks for half the season.

  • The Baltimore Ravens are expected to make a strong second-half run with Lamar Jackson returning, which should boost Flowers' fantasy value, especially considering he has only found the end zone once so far and is likely to see positive touchdown regression.

  • Currently valued as the dynasty WR26 on KeepTradeCut, the article's author sees Flowers as a WR18 and recommends him as an excellent buy-low target for dynasty managers looking to acquire a young, ascending star receiver.

  • Our take: Zay has 5+ catches in all but one game this year. He’s been locked into that WR3 range most of this year, which feels like his weekly floor. With Lamar back, he should be able to creep back into that low-end WR2 zone.
