In the last newsletter, I asked you all: “Who would you take at the end of the 1st round in a redraft PPR league?”
64.1% of you said, “James Cook”

Best subscriber comments:
Cook: “Given both his rushing and pass catching ability, this is a no doubter! With JJ, I cant put my full trust in Murray and Achane will have defenses to stop him as Miami's only weapon.”
Jefferson: “Some of it depends on the board, but give me the guy that could be back in the top 4 conversation next year.”
Achane: no comments 😢
Our take: I voted Cook because he has the fewest question marks (if any) out of these three. And that seemed to be a common sentiment among all the subscriber comments who voted for him. Jefferson could top him if Kyler shows any sort of competence. Achane could top him if he gets insane volume and stays healthy.
Alright, now let’s get to some news you might’ve missed.
Giddy up.

Tonight’s quick hitter section is based on the biggest sentiment risers and fallers looking at the last 7 days of discussion vs. the previous 7 days.
Sentiment score is on a scale of 0-100 and is relative to other players at their position.
A red dot 🔴 means general sentiment is negative for that player over the last 7 days relative to other players at their position.
A yellow dot 🟡 means general sentiment is neutral for that player over the last 7 days relative to other players at their position.
A green dot 🟢 means general sentiment is positive for that player over the last 7 days relative to other players at their position.
Important: None of these scores are meant to be buy/sell indicators. They simply show the current discussion trend.
Risers:
Previous sentiment score = 31 🔴
Current sentiment score = 69 🟢
(83 mentions last 7 days): He forced three missed tackles, generated 21 of 33 yards after contact, gained two first downs on eight carries, and recognized both blitzes in pass protection without giving ground. Analysts say the tape led them to conclude he looked prepared.
Previous sentiment score = 22 🔴
Current sentiment score = 45 🟡
(111 mentions last 7 days): Presented as the larger, downhill runner the Giants wanted after their backfield didn't match their preferred power approach, projected for early-down, short-yardage and goal-line work. Analysts say he could materially improve the Giants' run game if he returns to prior form.
Josh Jacobs (RB, GB): ▲16
Previous sentiment score = 21 🔴
Current sentiment score = 37 🔴
(107 mentions last 7 days): When healthy, he went all year with only one game without a rushing TD and held a top-10 RB pace in points per game. The analyst calls his mid-tier RB2 price a buying opportunity, treating his injury as why his numbers understated his ability rather than decline.
Previous sentiment score = 28 🔴
Current sentiment score = 40 🔴
(119 mentions last 7 days): His WR46, late-10th-round ADP is treated as a favorable price for a fifth receiver because his hamstring issue has depressed demand. Analysts expect his strongest fantasy value in the second half and don't think the injury undermines his late-season league-winning potential.
Bo Nix (QB, DEN): ▲11
Previous sentiment score = 57 🟡
Current sentiment score = 68 🟢
(129 mentions last 7 days): Returned from his broken ankle for a preseason tune-up where execution mattered more than passing totals, and the team calls him 100% healthy. Analysts remain bullish regardless of one preseason showing, citing his progression, downfield aggression and dual-threat ability.
Fallers:
Josh Downs (WR, IND): ▼18
Previous sentiment score = 69 🟢
Current sentiment score = 51 🟡
(97 mentions last 7 days): His projected breakout and flex appeal lose value with Keenan Allen joining the Colts' targets; analysts say even a moderate share for Allen pulls opportunities from Downs. He remains primarily a slot receiver while preparing for more outside work, with a recent groin issue that cost him practice time still the main outlook risk.
Previous sentiment score = 63 🟢
Current sentiment score = 44 🟡
(187 mentions last 7 days): Carries an RB13 cost, but the bearish case rests on Arizona's low win total, a brutal schedule, backfield competition, and a high ankle sprain sidelining him the rest of preseason. Analysts say his talent stays positive but expect less rookie output than his price needs.
Previous sentiment score = 71 🟢
Current sentiment score = 43 🟡
(113 mentions last 7 days): His turf toe has created an unresolved availability problem, with multiple specialist visits implying the initial evaluation didn't settle it. Analysts call a Week 1 absence damaging given his draft range offered healthy options, and the call is to fade him until round five.
Previous sentiment score = 61 🟢
Current sentiment score = 16 🔴
(189 mentions last 7 days): His hamstring flare-up follows bilateral strains that already limited him last season, plus major knee injuries and a collarbone fracture. His profile falls from a high-upside WR2/WR3 to a high-risk late-round flyer, and analysts recommend avoidance until health clears.
Previous sentiment score = 71 🟢
Current sentiment score = 8 🔴
(88 mentions last 7 days): Tore his ACL and is out for the year after Houston had expected him to be its No. 2 receiver, his size and frame complementing Nico Collins in an in-breaking offense. Analysts call it a major loss of planned production, with no equal replacement identified.
UPDATE: Kayshon Boutte was traded to HOU today. He’ll immediately be in the mix for that WR2 job.
