The latest Washington usage projections cast Stefon Diggs as the team's clear No. 2 receiver behind Terry McLaurin while keeping him in some first-read situations.

Washington signed Diggs as a free agent on Aug. 7, and analysts now describe him as the true WR2 the offense lacked, a move that also pushed other pass catchers such as Chigoziem Okonkwo into smaller roles. One analyst compared the McLaurin and Diggs setup to a 1A/1B arrangement and said certain game plans will make Diggs the first read, projecting heavy target volume. Analysts point to last season in New England, where Diggs was the leading receiver at roughly 12.5 points per game and around 1,000 yards, as the basis for treating him as a late-round flex or WR3 rather than a pure speculative add, and his draft cost sits around the ninth or tenth round. The cautions are that Washington's target tree stays compressed behind McLaurin, that Diggs is an older receiver who has been on three teams in three seasons, and that at least one analyst expects him to hold serve or decline rather than keep improving.

Our take: If I can have Diggs as the 1st or 2nd guy coming off my bench, I’m happy with that. The decline has to come sooner or later, though, right?

Zach Charbonnet will open the season on Seattle's PUP list and miss at least the first four games, ending summer optimism about a Week 1 return and leaving rookie Jadarian Price as the lead back.

Charbonnet had ACL surgery on Feb. 20 after injuring his knee in the divisional round of the 2025 playoffs, and the Seahawks placed him on reserve/PUP to open the year, with general manager John Schneider saying taking him off the list was not a consideration. He must sit a minimum of four games, making Week 5 against San Francisco his earliest possible return. Analyst projections for when he actually plays range widely, from around Week 5 to Thanksgiving, with several landing at midseason or later, and one noted that nine months past the surgery lands at Week 11. With Charbonnet out, analysts describe Price as the clear early-season lead back and bell-cow for a run-heavy offense, with George Holani and Emanuel Wilson behind him, and one outlet projects high-end RB2 production for the first few weeks. The open question analysts raise is how Price's workload holds up once Charbonnet returns.

Our take: I don’t have any shares of Price or Charb this year. Not too optimistic about Charb being a difference maker when he returns, but it will be interesting to see how much of a dent he puts into Price’s value later in the year (assuming he runs away with the job until then). If I were a Price owner, I’d be looking to cash out sooner rather than later if he starts hot.

Josh Jacobs is on the NFL's Commissioner's Exempt List and cannot practice or play for Green Bay, and analysts now treat a suspension ranging from at least six games to a full season as realistic.

Jacobs was placed on the exempt list after being charged this offseason with two misdemeanors, battery and criminal damage to property, stemming from a May arrest that several outlets tied to a domestic violence incident. He is barred from practicing or playing until the league removes him, there is no set timetable, and general manager Brian Gutekunst said he expects Jacobs to play at some point this season. Analysts are split on the outcome: some cite the NFL's six-game baseline suspension for domestic violence and expect a long ban that still lets him play in 2026, reasoning that misdemeanor rather than felony charges argue against the worst case, while others say the allegations are "incredibly serious" and that he might not play at all this year, particularly if reported video proves damaging. With Jacobs out, MarShawn Lloyd has been Green Bay's clear No. 1 back throughout camp, and analysts note the group behind him is unsettled. Several also point out that Green Bay's run-heavy approach was built directly around Jacobs, so his absence could push the offense toward more passing, though one analyst cautioned the team leans on the run partly to protect its offensive line.

Our take: I have Jacobs on one dynasty team, Lloyd on one redraft team, and a lot of Packer WRs sprinkled around. It’s impossible to speculate what happens with Jacobs/Lloyd, but that last point is really interesting to me. Talk out of camp is that they’ve been playing with higher tempo too. So there are a couple of factors that could lead to more pass attempts than usual in GB. Would be a nice boost for Love, Kraft, Watson, Reed, and Golden.
