One last thing before we get into tonight’s newsletter…

Each newsletter takes about 2 hours to write. It would mean the world if you took 2 seconds to share it with someone else :)

Let’s start off by recapping last night’s trade poll:

Team A receives:

  • Tee Higgins

  • Jordan Mason

  • Tank Dell

Team B receives:

  • Etienne

  • Pearsall

53.57% of you voted for the Higgins+ side.

Best subscriber comments:

  • ā€œIf dell is a shadow of himself next year this is a blowout win for Team Aā€

  • ā€œI’m going with Tee, a top ten type talent at the position who is producing without his top 5 QB. I always want to lock in a set it and forget it starter and he seems like the only sure bet in the trade. Masons role will elevate as Jones ages and ETNs role will likely decrease as Tutens grows. Not sold on slick Rick and a healthy Aiyuk and Kittle may hold him back next year too. Close but I’ll take the sure shot in Tee.ā€

Our take: Team context matters a lot here. I could understand tiering down from Tee to Pearsall if I needed a solid RB like Etienne. This seems like a pretty fair deal, but if I had to pick, I’d want to be on the Tee Higgins side. He is the best bet to be a consistent contributor over the next 2-3 years as the comments suggest above.

Now, let’s get into some bold predictions for week 12.

Giddy up.

QB - Jared Goff (DET)

  • Jared Goff is currently the QB16 in points per game, a step down from his impressive QB8 performance last season when he threw 37 passing touchdowns and finished fifth in MVP voting. Despite the slight regression, Goff remains highly efficient, maintaining a 110.8 QB rating and ranking fifth in completion percentage.

  • The Lions' offense continues to be potent, sitting fifth in the league with 29.2 points per game. Goff is on pace for 4,233 passing yards and 36 touchdowns, which would be a solid season, though slightly below his previous year's performance. He has already had one QB1 performance this year in Week 2 against the Bears.

  • The article boldly predicts that Goff will have a massive game against the New York Giants, who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. The bold prediction specifically states that Goff will throw four touchdown passes and finish as the QB1 for the week, leveraging the Giants' vulnerable defense that has allowed multiple touchdowns to quarterbacks in recent weeks.

  • Our take: As a Giants fan, this checks out. Do your worst, Jared. I’m already a broken man.

RB - Alvin Kamara (NOR)

  • Kamara is currently ranked RB39 in half-PPR scoring this season, but the article predicts he will finish as a top-18 running back in Week 12. Despite struggling this season, he showed promise in Week 10 with a season-high 13 half-PPR points and a workhorse-like performance of 22 carries and three target receptions.

  • The article highlights Kamara's favorable matchup against the Falcons, who have allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (163) and the 10th-most receiving yards to running backs. With a 49.1% route participation rate and 0.21 targets per route run, Kamara is expected to be a versatile, do-it-all back in this game.

  • Kamara's potential success is bolstered by the Saints being 2.5-point favorites at home, suggesting a positive game script that could allow him to capitalize on the Falcons' weak run defense and potentially score significant fantasy points through both rushing and receiving opportunities.

  • Our take: Calling a top-18 RB finish for Kamara ā€œboldā€ shows you how far he has fallen this year. He has the 10th-easiest RB schedule for the fantasy playoffs vs. CAR, NYJ, and TEN. Maybe this is the week he shows some signs of life. You might be able to get him for a 3rd rounder.

WR - Michael Wilson (ARI)

  • Wilson had a breakout performance, catching 15-of-18 targets for 185 yards, which was described as a shocking result for a previously overlooked role player.

  • With Marvin Harrison Jr. out, Wilson is expected to continue receiving significant targets, especially as the Cardinals have adopted a pass-heavy approach with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback.

  • The article is so confident in Wilson's potential that the author mentions benching Justin Jefferson in favor of Wilson, indicating a strong belief in the receiver's ability to provide top-24 value for the second consecutive week.

  • Our take: I don’t know whether this bold prediction says more about Michael Wilson or Justin Jefferson. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I benched JJ and he had a monster game. I don’t envy anybody who has to make that type of call this weekend.

WR - Chris Olave (NOR)

  • Olave was second in NFL targets in Weeks 1-5 but ranked low in yards per game, then experienced positive regression from Weeks 6-10, ranking seventh in yards per game and scoring three touchdowns.

  • Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has shown a willingness to throw downfield to Olave, particularly outside the numbers, completing 11 of 16 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in such areas.

  • Olave is facing the Falcons, who use single-high coverage on 69% of defensive plays, a matchup that could benefit Olave given his strong performance (averaging 2.57 yards per route run) against such defensive looks.

  • Our take: I always love finding hidden gem defensive scheme stats like this. Will probably end up using Olave in DFS because of it.

TE - Hunter Henry (NE)

  • Hunter Henry is running routes on 75% of Patriots pass plays and has a 16% target share, second only to Stefon Diggs on the team. The article highlights Henry's potential for a big game against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have been particularly vulnerable to tight ends, allowing ten touchdowns to the position in just five games.

  • Henry has shown the capability for explosive performances, with a previous standout game in Week 3 where he caught eight passes on 11 targets for 90 yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots are 7-point favorites in a game with a high 50.5-point betting total, suggesting good offensive opportunities.

  • The bold prediction for Henry is a top-three fantasy finish, with the article specifically forecasting that he will score twice against the Bengals. This prediction is backed by the Bengals' defensive struggles, which have seen tight ends consistently produce high-scoring games against them in recent weeks.

  • Our take: I’m just picturing that 58-yard game-winning TD that Colston Loveland had against the Bengals earlier this season. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a random TD like that from Henry this weekend.

That’s all for tonight!

See ya pizza,

Joe
