Yooo!
I was really hoping that I might get a call from Brian Thomas Jr. today saying āApril Fools! You really did draft a WR1 in your dynasty startup last year. Iāll be back to normal this year.ā Havenāt received that call just yet. T-Mobile must be down today.
In case you missed it, we dropped the newsletter cadence down to 1x per week for the early part of the offseason.
Weāre working on some big updates to the website and canāt wait to share them with you as we make progress!
In the meantime, you can expect our newsletters to land in your inbox every Wed at 9pm EST up until the NFL draft (late April). Weāll increase the newsletter cadence again after that.
Last week, I asked you all: āWill Tuten be the Jags RB1 in Week 1?ā
77.8% of you said āYESā

Best subscriber comments:
Yes: āI have tons of Tuten shares, so I'm 100% biased in hoping he's their RB1 š¤£ā
Yes: āEasily the best back in their existing RB room. The only way he falls off is if the jags snag RB in the draft, even then, if itās a day 3 RB, Tuten is still their guy week 1+.ā
Yes: āHe will be a stud. Iām not an analyst or anything, but I know when I make a mistake. I traded Egbuka and Tuten for Brian Thomas 2 weeks into last season. My sphincter still hurts with BTJā
Our take: Most of the sentiment around the industry is Very Positive (39%), so you guys might be on to something. The 3 Negative mentions are mostly concerns about drafting more competition and Chris Rodriguezās prior relationship with Liam Coen from their time at Kentucky together. Iām still skeptical.

Alright, now letās get to some other news you mightāve missed this week. Weāre focusing on 5 veterans tonight.
Giddy up.

RB - Alvin Kamara (NOR)
Alvin Kamara is expected to remain with the Saints in 2026, with coach Kellen Moore stating there will be enough snaps for both him and new addition Travis Etienne.

Moore expressed love for Kamara, calling him "great" and stating he "means the world" to the organization, despite a contract restructure that removes immediate cap implications if the team parts ways with him.
Kamara is coming off a season with career lows across the board, including 471 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 186 receiving yards, and 0 receiving touchdowns, while missing six games due to injury and the final three of the 2024 season. His receiving work has also declined significantly, with a career-low 39 targets in the previous season.
Entering his age-31 season, Kamara faces significant historical challenges, as few running backs over 30 have finished as top-30 fantasy scorers in the last decade. The few older RBs who have succeeded relied heavily on touchdowns, a scoring output Kamara has not achieved since 2020.
Our take: As someone who drafted him in a startup last year and was greatly disappointed, I can tell you Iām not expecting much this year. I tried selling him hard at the trade deadline last season and got zero bites. Canāt imagine there is much of a market for him with Etienne in town now. The sentiment chart above seems to reflect that as well.
QB - Deshaun Watson (CLE)
Deshaun Watson faces significant skepticism regarding his fantasy relevance in 2026 due to a history of injuries and poor performance since joining the Browns.
Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam expressed optimism for Deshaun Watson's comeback, stating he has a "great chance" and a "fresh start" under new head coach Todd Monken, who has a history of success with various quarterbacks. Watson is reportedly in excellent physical condition, weighing the least he has in years, and is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job.
Despite optimism from ownership, analysts express significant skepticism regarding Watson's fantasy relevance due to his poor performance and injury history, including two Achilles tears. His 33.1 Total QBR since joining the Browns ranks last among qualifying quarterbacks, and he has averaged only 13.1 fantasy points per game since his 2022 acquisition. Now 30 years old, he is considered a long shot to return to fantasy relevance and should only be considered in superflex formats.
Watson is reportedly in the 'pole position' to be the Week 1 starting quarterback, though new Head Coach Todd Monken and GM Andrew Berry have stated the job is open and both Watson and Shedeur Sanders are in competition. Potential reasons for Watson's perceived lead include coaches relying on past performance or a strategy to keep Sanders motivated.
Our take: Similar to Kamara, Iām not expecting much from Watson moving forward. I have him in one league and am going to wait for some more positive momentum in the news about him getting the starting job (hopefully) before trying to sell him for a 2027 Late 2nd.
QB - Geno Smith (NYJ)
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has declared Geno Smith the starting quarterback and expressed extreme confidence that he will lead the team to 'the promised land'.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has emphatically declared Geno Smith the starting quarterback, expressing strong belief that he will lead the team to 'the promised land'. Glenn cited Smith's 'chip on his shoulder,' past success in Seattle, and improved football intelligence as reasons for his confidence, despite Smith's recent struggles and league-high 17 interceptions in 2025 with the Raiders.
Despite being named the starter, Geno Smith is considered a long shot for consistent fantasy production, with analysts noting he has finished no better than 16th in fantasy points per game over the last three seasons.
His 2025 season was marked by league-high interceptions and sacks, and he is no longer a significant rushing threat, making him a superflex-only consideration.
Our take: Genoās sentiment chart is interesting, how itās almost perfectly down the middle. And then you also have nearly identical positive and negative sentiment on each side. Iām probably right in the middle, too. Heās an okay QB3 who you wouldnāt mind starting in a pinch, but if you have him as your weekly QB2, youāre probably in trouble.
QB - Aaron Rodgers (PIT)
Aaron Rodgers' future remains undecided, with a decision expected before the NFL Draft.
Aaron Rodgers is expected to announce his decision regarding his NFL future by the upcoming NFL Draft on April 23rd, with Steelers owner Art Rooney II and coach Mike McCarthy anticipating an answer soon. McCarthy has maintained regular, positive contact with Rodgers, expressing confidence in his return.
Despite speculation linking Aaron Rodgers to the Denver Broncos, the organization has vehemently denied any interest, calling the report 'zero percent' chance and affirming their commitment to Bo Nix. The Broncos' denial renders the Rodgers speculation preposterous.
If Aaron Rodgers returns to the Steelers, he is projected as a low-ceiling QB2, as he has not been fantasy relevant since 2021 and remains a nonfactor as a rusher. His 2025 season saw him finish outside the top 12 in passing yards and TDs, ranking 23rd in QBR.
Contract negotiations between Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers may be stalled due to significant financial differences, with his representatives reportedly seeking around $30 million annually while the Steelers are hesitant to exceed $13 million.
Our take: If Rodgers returns to the Steelers, Iām guessing weāll get something pretty similar to last year. Which isnāt that exciting. But Iād be happy with him as my QB3.
RB - David Montgomery (HOU)
David Montgomery is projected for a significant workhorse role with the Houston Texans, who are committed to establishing the run.

He is expected to handle the majority of early-down and goal-line work, providing a significant upgrade over previous options like Woody Marks, who struggled with efficiency and was better suited for a third-down role. Montgomery's expected workload of 20-25 touches per game positions him as a primary back and a reliable RB2 with touchdown upside.
Montgomery's fantasy draft value is currently seen as a bargain, with some analysts projecting him as a second or third-round value, while others find him available in the fifth or sixth round of early best ball drafts. However, one perspective suggests he is too expensive to acquire with the 1.11 pick, which is considered an overpay.
Despite being 29 years old, Montgomery's tread is considered light due to previous usage patterns, and he is not expected to be in a platoon situation. His move to Houston is viewed as a 'Culture Win' with high potential, and his metrics in yards per carry, missed tackles forced, and yards after contact are superior to other backs on the roster.
Montgomery's acquisition by the Texans is seen as a strategic move to support a run-heavy offense, potentially taking pressure off C.J. Stroud and improving the team's ground game. The Texans' offensive line signings indicate a preference for man-blocking schemes, an area where Montgomery has historically excelled, averaging 5.7 yards per carry last season.
Our take: Iāve never been a huge fan of Monty in fantasy. But all the positive sentiment about his move to the Texans might be changing my mind. 20+ touch workloads donāt grow on trees anymore. Who knows how efficient heād be with those touches, though.
Where will David Montgomery finish among RBs next season (PPR)?(Vote to see live results) |
Thatās all for tonight!
See ya pizza,
Joe
